Both dentists at Douglas Dental Care are highly trained and compassionate.  They strive for clinical excellence for each of their patients.  Continuing education is a cornerstone of their dental practice.  They attend over 40 hours of continuing education each year, learning about the newest technologies and procedures.  Feel free to contact them with any questions you may have.

Dimitri Arfanakis, DMD, FAGD

General Dentist

Fellow of Academy of General Dentistry

Dr. Dimitri Arfanakis (affectionately known as Dr. Dimitri) is proud to provide comprehensive oral health care.  He's committed to diagnostic and clinical growth.  As a member of many dental organizations, Dr. Dimitri attends many continuing education courses to remain up-to-date with the latest dental advancements and research.  In June 2018, Dr. Dimitri became a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, a very prestigious accomplishment that less than 6% of all US dentists earn.



Dr. Dimitri is also a supervising dentist and instructor at the West Georgia Technical College Dental Hygiene Department.  He helps train students to become dental hygienists and believes that all dental care must include proper oral hygiene.

Dr. Dimitri is married to his wife, Katie, a Douglasville native. They have two children together.  The family enjoys being active in its church and volunteering at schools and local charitable organizations.

Thanh Ha, DMD

General Dentist

Dr. Ha is proud to call Georgia her home. Raised in the metro-Atlanta area, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Georgia Tech and her Master of Science degree from Georgia State University. She earned her DMD from the University of Florida and continued to complete a general practice residency in Chapel Hill at the University of North Carolina. During her residency, she treated special needs children and adults, geriatric guests, and guests with complex medical histories. 

Dr. Ha also teaches at West Georgia Technical College Dental Hygiene Department.  She helps train students to become dental hygienists in our Douglas County community.

Dr. Ha enjoys all aspects of general dentistry. She is dedicated to furthering her dental education and regularly takes continuing education courses to stay on the forefront of technology. She believes that every patient should be treated like family, and she hopes to build life-long relationships with all of her patients. She looks forward to helping her patients improve their oral health and brighten their smiles!

Joel R. Tidwell, DDS

General Dentist

Dr. Tidwell grew up in right here in Douglasville, Georgia.  After studying at the University of Georgia and Emory University, he returned here to practice dentistry.  You could say he is a hometown dentist.

Dr. Tidwell has served the Douglasville community for over 30 years.  His focus is to provide functional restorative dentistry for his patients. 

Throughout the year, Dr. Tidwell volunteers at local charity institutions by providing dental care to those who are less fortunate.

Dr. Tidwell and his wife, Mary, are active in their church and community.  They have three children together.
